Eating the wrong foods can alter your mood and cause depression. Why? Because the foods we consume daily effects our brain. All of our cells, bones, signaling molecules and tissues are built from what we eat. Our bodies use the proper minerals and vitamins from our foods to create energy and send electrical impulses to our brain so we can think, feel and move.

Going cold turkey is not for everyone. Start by doing a natural detox. Take it step by step and begin to cut out certain foods from your diet. We have to be mindful that we've been eating unhealthy for years and realistically it's going to take time to get where we need to be health-wise.
